Our Mission Statement:

Our number one goal is for our rescued dogs to never suffer from neglect or abuse again and to place our rescued dogs into loving homes where they will be Breed Ambassadors.

PittieLove Rescue Inc. is an all-volunteer, foster home-based rescue dedicated to the care, understanding, rehabilitation and adoption of the American Pit Bull Terrier.  As one of the most abused and misunderstood breeds of all time PittieLove’s number one goal is for our rescued dogs to never suffer from neglect or abuse again, carefully placing them into loving homes where they will be Ambassadors for the breed.

Working closely with MA shelters,  MA animal control facilities, fellow rescue organizations, we step in to take custody of as many dogs in need as we have foster homes for.  Before the dogs come into our rescue, they undergo a thorough temperament evaluation. If they pass, they are then placed into loving foster homes where they are provided with quality veterinary care, initial training and lots of socialization (with both people and animals of all ages).  Our dogs are up to date on their vaccinations (age appropriate), are always spayed/neutered and micro-chipped upon adoption.

All of our volunteers are experienced Pit Bull owners and are always happy and available to work with adopters and potential adopters with any questions or concerns they may have.  Adopters receive detailed education about Pit Bull type dogs as well as comprehensive information about the specific dog they are interested in.

We cannot accept dogs into our program that show aggression towards other animals, however, we do recognize the breed’s potential of developing this trait as it matures, therefore, we prefer to place our rescued dogs as only pets or with a compatible dog of the opposite sex.

Our strict adoption policy includes, but is not limited to, a thorough application process, an initial phone screen, and home visits accompanied by both personal and vet reference checks.
