New Beginnings

Sephora
Sephora entered my life on Sunday, September 4, 2011.  I picked her up at Noreen’s house and the original plan called for me to be her Foster Dad until PLR could find a Forever Home for her.  My gut feeling told me this would be a temporary foster situation as I spend a lot of time with my brother and he has a female Boston Terrier and I wasn’t sure how they’d get along.

When I got home that Sunday Sephora just kind of hung around.  As she got acclimated to the house I read up on post-pregnancy in dogs.  Wow!  I sure learned a lot and didn’t realize the toll that pregnancy took on these dogs.  Not only did the puppies suck the life out of her but apparently dormant parasites rear their ugly heads as well.  Essentially, she was getting stripped of all her nutrients and had been through hell.

Sephora also had very sad eyes but it was evident that she had a sweet heart.  It was also clear that she had been abused; I believe by a man or men as she was very hesitant around men when she first met them.  With women, however, she was much more outgoing.

Over the next few days we began to get into a routine.  Walks in the morning, crate during the day, and walks in the afternoon.  She also got some dry food every morning and for her nighttime meal I began to add a can of Wellness Stew, hot water, fish oil and fresh crushed garlic (the garlic for 7 days at a time).  She really likes those nighttime meals.

During that first week Sephora showed glimpses of happiness but there always seemed to be a great deal of hesitation; like she knew that this “new life” wouldn’t last very long.  Also during that first week she met Crystal, my brother’s female Boston, and they got along great.  They ran and played and just seemed to hit it off.  This was very encouraging.  So was the fact that everyone she met, from grandparents, to adults, and especially kids, she just loved and they loved her.  She was full of love!

During the second week of fostering Noreen asked me to write up a Bio for Sephora’s PLR adoption page.  I didn’t even have to think about it; I had fallen in love with her and didn’t want her to leave.  So, the next weekend I went back up to Noreen’s and officially became her Forever Home.

Since bringing Sephora home she has been great.  For the first 6 weeks or so we began to see her personality come out little by little.  She became more playful in the house and started flashing her smile with increased frequency.  Over time she has blossomed like a flower and today she is a bundle of love, energy and excitement.  Oh, and a little goofy (or quite a bit at times!).

Often times in the afternoon we go for long walks in the woods and we do this with other dogs both male and female.  She gets along great and is very dog appropriate with her behavior.  I’ve also begun my fall / winter hike schedule and she seems to love it.  This past weekend we hiked Mt. Washington with my friend and his female cattle dog and they both did great.  It was an 8 hour hike and both dogs (they’re both females) slept together in the back seat on the entire ride home.  The cattle dog, Roxy, had been up there a few times and understood she was in for a long hike so she stayed close.  Sephora, however, thought it was our regular hike and ran around like a nut for the first 3 or 4 hours.  Once she realized we were in it for the long haul she stuck close and didn’t use up too much energy.

I’d like to thank PLR for introducing me to Sephora as I was very hesitant to bring a female APBT into my home.  I’d also like to thank Dru for fostering her before she came to me.  It’s been so fun watching Sephora come out of her shell and words really can’t express the joy I’ve gotten from watching this process.  For everyone who took the time with her and those who gave money to help with her puppies “Thank You”.  Everyone can rest assured knowing that she is very much loved and is thriving in her new home.  Plenty of love, exercise and socialization.  And she sleeps in bed with me (I’m not sure who enjoys that more!).  Oh yeah, when I got her she was 44.5 lbs.  Now she’s a ripped 48 lbs.  I really thought she’d lose weight but she is one of those naturally muscular dogs and she’s still a few months away from completely recovering from her pregnancy.  And much to my delight she is an awesome swimmer!

Thanks,
Chris

Ava

Ava started off as our foster just about a year ago.  Ava had some separation issues due to being abandoned by her previous owner who was supposed to have loved and protected her.   She was taken by a friend of our rescue (PittieLove) but they could not keep her as their landlord did not want a pittie living in the apartment.  We had a foster pup already, but I couldn’t see this gorgeous dog being euthanized due to lack of foster homes.  We took her in to live with our other two pitties and our foster at the time.  She was only about 10 months old then.  We fostered Ava for 6 months before she was adopted.  But due to her adoptive Mom not being prepared to deal with her separation anxiety, she was returned.

We knew at that point we could not chance another family not being dedicated to Ava the way that we were so we adopted her and added her to our large Galvin pack.  It has been almost 6 months since we adopted her and she is just amazing.  She is the most loving and tolerant dog of my kids (9 and 6).  She will let them lay on her, play with her ears, give her big hugs and she responds with a lick.  The girls love to play with her as she has her very own special game with them.  She LOVES human affection/attention and if she feels she is not getting enough will go to where you are and nuzzle you until you look at her and love her.

She loves to snuggle with her pittie brother and sister and whatever foster pooch is living with us at the time.  Her favorite thing has been teaching foster pups the game of keep away.  She likes puppies best because they are more gullible and will chase her in circles around the couch forever.   She is a Velcro dog as she loves to follow you from room to room wondering if you are escaping from a secret hatch in the house.

Ava will never know what it is to be homeless again because PittieLove cared enough to search and not give up on finding a foster when it was down to the wire and her time was up.  And we could not imagine our life, or even remember what it was like, without her in it.

Murphy

Murphy came to us emaciated from a MA Animal control facility as a stray and was fostered and brought back to health by our volunteer foster parents Joy and Eddie.

Hello all,

I adopted Murphy from PittieLove Rescue 7 months ago, & he is doing great! Murphy settled in very well right from the beginning. Murphy is the first adult dog I have adopted & it was like we had always been together! He already knew many tricks & commands, plus he was perfectly house trained. Murphy gets along great with Nesta (this is a picture of the 2 of them on one of the dog beds) & he has been friendly to dogs we meet while out on walks.

Murphy loves little kids, riding in the car & he also loves to sunbathe! We rented a pet friendly cottage on Cape Cod for the first 2 weeks of July & Murphy had a great time going to the beach & lounging around in the sunroom watching the bunnies in the yard (check out the other 2 pictures!). I bring Murphy with me to work & on errands like getting the oil changed & going to the postoffice.

I’m so glad Jess suggested Murphy for me, he is perfect! Thank you PittieLove for rescuing him & also to Joy & her family for fostering him!

Bub

Hi Noreen and all! It’s Cassandra, Keith, Kayla and Bub(used to be Marley), one big happy family!! Kayla is almost two tears old now. When we met and adopted our dog from you, she was still a bun in the oven! Bub is doing well, very happy and active. The two of them together- oh my gosh! SOOOO cute. She calls him Bubba, tells him to sit and gives him a treat, and says goodbye when she leaves and gives him a kiss. The two of them really are best friends. Keith and I couldn’t be happier with him, he’s very gentle with her, even when she tries to ride on him and pulls on his jowls!! Thank you for letting us adopt him and become part of our family. You guys are obviously doing a amazing job and a wonderful service to animals in need of a home. Bub has a great home here!

Talk to you soon, Cassandra

Lula

She loooooves the cat, they are so comical. All Lula does is kiss her and try to play and the cat just looks at her like “alright dog, enough!” they cuddle all the time and Lula even lets the cat eat out of her bowl! I always have to shoo her away, but then Lula will go and nibble with the cat and her food. They’re best friends.Jake also takes Lula to his parents to play with their dog Roxy. They run all around and lick eachother none stop (and they’re both females!) We have some great video of them; Roxy is much older so Lula keeps her young with all of her energy. What’s also funny is that even though she can have lots of energy at times, she is so calm for a pup! She is so relaxed around people, she just wants attention.

Everyone says they can’t believe how calm she is for her age. She does great with us off leash, following commands and she is a PRO at fetch, it’s her favorite game. She sits, gives paw, lies down, and gives when we ask her. She is no longer in her crate for the 2 hrs she’s home alone! She only chew her toys and waits till we get home to go potty! Also, most days, Jake takes her to my mom’s on his way to work so she has a few hours to run in a fenced yard and get plenty of love. My son stays with my mom during the day b/c school is out, so Lula loves being with him. She takes naps on their bed and lies in the shade in the yard…..what a life. You should see her when she hears the bus’ brakes outside our house, she gets so excited!! She watches out for Mikey and can’t stop licking him, she sleeps with him every night (right on his pillow!) If he cries, she sits right next to him and lies her head on his shoulder….she is so smart. Thank you so much for choosing us to give Lula a home…we love her more than you know. She is the best dog and we can’t imagine a day without her.

She will be getting so professional pics done soon from the same girl who has been taking pics of some of your dogs!! (Samantha Rich) We know each other from a local message board and it was so funny when we realized the connection. I know she met Lula before us as a potential new pup in her home. What a small world! Sorry for the long letter, but I want you to know how well she is doing. I attached some pics, I hope you enjoy them! So nice talking with you…maybe someday you can visit her!

Nicole

(PS. As we speak she is ripping apart soft squeaky toy number 5 :) the pink tennis ball is still in tack, surprisingly! She is lying on her back, legs in the air chewing on the toy. I can’t even take it….love her!)

Roxy

After we lost our dear sweet Frenchie, Ally, Roxy (Lady) came into our lives. When Roxy first came, it was clear that someone took the time to train her, but didn’t take the time to show her much love or affection. She also clearly had puppies in her past, that were taken away from her. Most likely too young.Roxy had allergies and some anxiety that we first thought was separation anxiety, but now have come to believe it is anxiety over her itchiness. Roxy has is an integral part of our family. She loves to snuggle and takes every opportunity to get belly rubs and kisses in! When we first adopted her, people thought we were crazy for bringing a Pittie into our family with a one year old child, but we told them to do their homework. Roxy LOVES our young daughter and the feeling is mutual. Our daughter is learning commands and Roxy is learning to listen to her. Roxy also has forced me to get out and exercise and she and I take a 2-3 mile walk every morning and she gets out with my husband at night (sometimes I take double duty!).

Roxy has settled in beautifully like she’s always been here! She has also been an fantastic ambassador for Pitties. When people come over, they are all won over by her smooshiness, playfulness, and all around just-great-dogness! We love her so much and are so grateful to PittieLove for allowing us to give Roxy her second chance as she gave us ours…

Mojo

Hello All!  I wanted to give an update on Mojo whom we’ve now had since October 2009.  Mojo became best buds with our girl Angel pretty much immediately.  They share everything, beds, toys, bones etc.  I honestly believe we could not have gotten luckier with how well they clicked.  When Mojo first came home we realized he hadn’t had much experience with normal “dog” stuff.  He didn’t know how to chase a tennis ball, he didn’t know how to chew on a bone even.  Angel was a great teacher and taught him that bones can be VERY tasty!  Mojo had some major teeth issues most likely due to his lack of chewing but with some brushing and his new found favorite passtime of chewing bones, he has some nice pearly whites!  He still hasn’t quite mastered the game of fetch…he prefers to fetch it then keep it away from his human friends.  Mojo has made our family complete and loves everyone he meets.  He greets all with a lick then grabs a bone and struts it around.  We could not imagine our lives without him and Angel in it!  They are the best dogs we’ve ever had and we look forward to many more years with them!  Thank you for the opportunity to be Mojo’s family!

Penny

Penny is a Pit Bull/Greyhound mix and she’s six years old now. We adopted her from PittieLove Rescue when she was a small puppy and she has always been the light of my life.  Penny was fostered by Noreen and her four siblings.

Penny loves to greet people and she loves being around children, cats, and other dogs.  When we’re in the house she still follows me around from room to room.  We go out for walks each day and we also go sailing together on the bay in the summer months.  We tow a small kayak behind the sailboat and use it to get to shore to take walks along the beaches, doing beach combing along the way.  We have had many adventures together out on the water and she sleeps very well in the cabin of the sailboat at night.  A lot of times I’ll be trolling a fishing lure behind the boat while we’re sailing along, and she will always let me know if the pole starts to bend fiercely and the line runs out, by barking.   This usually means that I have a fish on the line.

She’s a real ham when it comes to posing for pictures, especially with all the grandchildren.  Outside of running through the woods or along the shoreline doing things that dogs love to do, she has this thing about chasing squirrels.  My other dog Ziggy had the same squirrel chasing thing.

Words can never describe the love that I have for this little animal and she has a great life with us.   These dogs are just like any dog.   If you give them a lot of love, they will love you back a hundred fold.

Thanks to Noreen and all at PittieLove Rescue!!

Polly

Thanks PittieLove Rescue! :) After having moved into our new house in December of 2008, Bill and I decided it was a good time for us to adopt a dog.  When we first saw Polly on Petfinder we couldn’t resist looking into adopting her.  She had the most adorable little face and we didn’t know if we would be lucky enough to adopt her.

Fast Forward… :)

A year and half later it is like she has been with us forever.  As a puppy she was energetic and cuddly but afraid of the outdoors after a tough start to life.  Now we are lucky if we can get her back inside as she just can’t get enough of sun bathing!!!!  She runs and smiles and just makes us laugh every day.  Everyone that meets her just loves her crazy, loving little personality.  With endless amounts of energy she gets a walk with Bill every morning and another walk pretty much every afternoon.  She loves everyone and loves to give big kisses and to cuddle and bury herself under the covers at night.  We feel so lucky to not only have rescued her and given her a new beginning and a home, but that we have been blessed with such a great addition to our family!!

Nia

Nia has been our family member for over 2 years now and she is a great girl !!!  Approximately 10 years old now! She loves to greet everyone (strangers included) and has made a lot of 2 and 4-legged friends over time. Her best doggie friends are Lola (Airdale), Pipee (Border Collie), Akina (Australia Shepard), Sanny (Yorkie), Princess (Shih-Zhu) and many more ! She gets compliments every day ( no joke!) on how pretty and well-mannered she is.

Nia loves to eat, go for car rides, plays fetch , takes her beauty sleep very seriously, plays with her friends and be the Chairperson of the neighborhood welcoming committee. When the weather is nice , she likes to chill in the yard and says hello to all our neighbors coming home from work. She is very spoiled (well deserved) and definitely rules our home with her love!

We are very lucky to have Nia in our family and love her very, very much. She is a true breed ambassador, a great educator and an advocate for all “Bully” friends!

Below is a special note from Nia , typed by her personal assistant!

Regards,
Agnes, Camille, and Nia
Newton, MA

Hello from Nia! I ‘m enjoying the summer (more squirrels and rabbits to stare at and people around to say hello to !) but really wish the humidity would go away. Life is good and comfy as always as I know I’m the queen and diva at home! I am an expert in giving my moms dirty looks if I disagree with them and most of the time, I get my way! It was wonderful to see Noreen and everyone at Whisker Walk again. I had a blast meeting all the new friends (two and 4-legged ones!) and got so much attention! Enjoy the season!

Big Kisses,
Nia

Harley

I rescued my puppy Harley, aka Sonny, from PittieLove Rescue last year. I couldn’t be more happy with him. He is the love of my life and is doing great! Him and his brother Rocky are great playmates! They use each other as pillows when napping and chew toys when playing. They are spoiled rotten and love to sleep under the covers of my bed every night…they barely leave me any space to sleep! Harley and Rocky are like circus monkeys and are great entertainment! They enjoy having my company over, especially when another doggie comes to play with them. They embarass me everytime at Petsmart. They make so much noise because they want to play with every toy, person, dog and cat they see. They are two of the happiest dogs I’ve ever seen. They always put a smile on my face at the end of the day. Harley was definitely a great addition to our family and I wouldn’t trade him for the world!! Thank you everyone at PittieLove Rescue, I’ll definitely be adding on to the family later down the road!

Life with Penny

After adopting Penny (formerly known as Barbie and Bella) in April, I realize every day how lucky I am. She continues to create new ways to make me laugh. The latest is her obsession with the small rags torn from what used to be a stuffed dragon – she tosses them in the air then chases them again!

Penny came to me knowing how to sit (very well!) and was already house-trained. I am currently two-weeks from graduation from obedience school. She is by far the most entertaining dog in the class (if not the calmest.)

We have been doing lots of exploring together. Running on trails, walks on the beach, romps in the dog park, and even visits to the vet have proven she is very, very friendly to other dogs and people. I was thrilled to discover that loves to play fetch, is great at catching a tennis ball or a soft frisbee, and can swim very well! The next step is kayaking…

The vet said she is going to remain a petite pit, 40 pounds or so, which is fine with me. She will look like a perpetual puppy. Her foster mom called her a “love bug,” and I couldn’t think of a better term. She’s snuggly, loving, energetic and tons of fun. I’m so happy to have found her!

Dexter

We rescued our first pit bull in 2008 and boy was she a blessing! We named her Zoey – which means life. My husband fell in love as soon as I brought her home. It took some time to get her feeling 100%comfortablele as she was in pretty bad shape. In no time she was as happy as can be. All she wanted to do was love us. She‘s a 40lb lap dog and loves to cuddle underneath a warm blanket.

A year later, we decided to give her a friend – Dexter. We wanted to rescue another dog, a pit bull, as we do not support puppy mills.

We came across PittieLove Rescue and fell in love with what would be our second pittie. Dexter is now a 70 pound face licker! He lives to please and is forever wagging his super long tail. As soon as we get home he goes right into his toy box and brings us a gift. He and his sister Zoey are always together. We have them in our front yard, while we all play, and they are great. They never want to be without each other and we can never be without them. They are part of our family. They are our kids. Whenever we are down they bring us joy with their little precious characters. Even when we are away from them, we just look at their pictures and smile. We can’t wait to get home.

We were so impressed with the dedication and true love that the volunteers of PittieLove Rescue has for the dogs they rescue, especially pitties. They are extremely dedicated with finding homes for the many pit bulls out there that need them. We wish we could take them all.

It seems that many forget that pit bulls were once America’s number one breed. Pit bulls are so under-appreciated and disgustingly misrepresented. We will only rescue this breed. We constantly find ourselves opposing negative thoughts on pit bulls. In our eyes, they are the best breed – a breed that should be praised. I would trust Zoey and Dexter with anyone, and everyone that meets them falls in love. They may lick someone to death, but that’s about it! We all need to help change the negative mindset about pitbulls and it starts here – with all of us. Thank you PittieLove Rescue for all that you do and for Dexter. We need more folks like you out there.

With appreciation,
Lissette and Luke, CT

Beetle

Beetle came into PittieLove Rescue from our friends at the MSPCA, Nevins Farm. He was fostered by Robbie and his female Pit Bull, Monkey.

We adopted Beetle in July 2009 as a companion for our dog Bella. Beetle is the sweetest dog on earth and after a little time getting to know each other, Bella and Beetle have become good pals. He quickly won our love and affection and we couldn’t imagine our home without him! He is truly our best friend and we couldn’t be more thankful for the PittieLove Rescue team for his rescue!

Beetle has won the hearts of everyone with whom he has come in contact with. We have several friends that have threatened to kidnap him the moment we turn our backs. In fact, I believe there is a “waiting list” of friends who would take him in a heartbeat.

He is just as sweet today as the day we adopted him and we’ve learned that he’s incredibly playful and a bundle of fun. He loves going for car and boat rides and is a joy to bring along. He’s a swimmer. We live on the lake and one of his favorite pastimes is swimming. When we first got Beetle we couldn’t keep him out of the lake. Anytime we went out of the house he headed immediately down for a swim. He will swim for hours if we let him. He splashes the water with his paws and just loves it when there are waves for additional splash action.

Beetle has favorite beds and perches throughout the house and sometimes has a difficult time deciding which spot he prefers most. So far, I’d have to say his favorite spot is where ever we are. When we are in the office on the computer, although willing to share the chair that we may be in, he still prefers his own chair to curl up in. We keep teasing that we will buy him his own chair for Christmas. Beetle loves all his stuffed animals, balls, chew toys and is now a member of a “Dog Toy of the Month” club. We also found that when we are out in the yard with tennis balls, rather than playing fetch, he is just as content to have a ball in his mouth while running around the yard like crazy entertaining himself.

Beetle is definitely a keeper and has found his forever home. Thanks to all who assisted us with finding our new best friend.

Penny

Hi Sarah,
It was so good to hear from you! You’ll be happy to know that Penny’s doing great in her new digs. She’s a constant source of joy and love and general adorableness. She’s growing more and more all the time (she was a healthy 33 lbs at her last vet appointment!), and is now nearly as tall as Blaze, but a LOT more floppy. :) She loves her toys as always, and is now on hedgehog number 2, with replacement hedgehog 3 waiting in the closet for when this one needs to be retired!

She and Blaze continue to play every minute they can, with toys and without. One of their favorite games involves: they each bite on to the end of one rope toy, and Penny lies on her belly on a bed. Blaze then plays “tug of war” with her, which means dragging her around the house while she rides the bed like a raft. It’s adorable, and they never seem to tire of it!

Penny started obedience classes at the New England Dog Training Center two weeks ago. It’s so funny- many of the exercises we do involve distracting the dog, and then bringing their attention back to the owner and rewarding that with a treat. However, Penny’s so darn food motivated that there’s no distracting her once she smells those treats in your pocket! I swear, they had three trainers and a pack of squeeky toys, ALL trying to distract her attention away from me and my pocket of treats. :)

She’s enjoying her walks on her gentle leader harness, and is having regular playdates with a new friend’s 1 yr old cockapoo. They have a great time rolling around the backyard together!.

Some evenings, when Blaze and Penny are playing incessantly and using their “outdoor gremlin voices,” James and I of course wish we had a bigger house with an acre of land. But at the end of the day, all that matters is curling up in bed with these two furry pooches and snuggling them. We love her so much and are so grateful to you for helping us complete our family!! I’m attaching lots of pictures I thought you’d like. They include: her with a hot dog toy, her sitting on her brother’s head, her sleeping with her tongue sticking out, and her basking amidst the stuffing of a plush toy. There are also a few others thrown in there!

My favorite photo is 1131. We were taking a photo of Penny modeling a soccer jersey we bought her, when Blaze photobombed her! The look on her face is priceless.

We love our Penny to pieces! Will you be in Cambridge any time soon? You’re always welcome to come by and visit!!

Thanks Sarah and PittieLove Rescue!

Lucy

We love our Lucy Lu Lewis! Lucy loves everything and everyone. Lucy and our cat, Jack have become the best of friends. If they are in the house together, then they are playing with eachother! Hunter, our 4 year old loves coming home to Lucy in his face and ready to play. She frequently sits on his lap so she can get a clear tongue shots to his face! They wrestle on the living room floor. Lucy steals his toys just so Hunter has to chase her.Lucy is a huge snuggle bug. Her favorite place is in your lap, but she’s in heaven as long as she’s touching you! Lucy is a bed hog! She burrows right under the covers, head on your pillow! We frequently visit family and friends with other animals, and Lucy just loves meeting and making new friends.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect fit for our family. Thank you PittieLove Rescue for finding her and uniting us. We are the luckiest rescue parents!

Ramona

Hi!!

I just wanted to take a minute to send a quick update on Ramona, whom Ryan and I adopted back in July 2010. Ramona is doing fabulously!! She and our other adopted Pitty Thunder are the best of friends!! They are always velcroed at the hip. Ramona is such a smart, happy, and healthy little bundle of muscle. She passed obedience classes with flying colors and we are always working with her to hone her good manners. We adopted Thunder about 4 years ago and he is thrilled to have a new best friend. They love playing tug outside. When they’re not running around outside  they’re spooning somewhere in the house. Thunder lost one of his back legs prior to his adoption and Ramona has figured out that it’s a great way to take him down in a wrestle match since he outweighs her by 30 pounds. It’s really quite hilarious to watch and they both have a ball. They can’t get enough of each other. Ramona has adjusted fabulously to the cat named Wayne that rules the roost at our house. Both Ramona and Thunder have realized that Wayne’s the boss and they let him reign without interruption. We are so thrilled that Ramona became a part of our family and has become the princess of the house. Thank you so much to PittieLove for doing what you do and providing second chances for these little hearts to love and be loved. Thanks a ton! Take care!

Dante

Hi Everyone at PittieLove,

I just wanted to send you some picture of Dante (Bronco) from the winter.  I’m terrible at keeping up with photos.  He is doing so well.  Dante loves other dogs, but he really loves children.  Whenever we are at a park for a walk he pauses and sits to watch the kids play.  It’s absolutely adorable.  He has the best personality.  All of our friends adore him; we feel like ambassadors to the breed now.  Whenever we host dinners or have a party he becomes a lapdog.  Chris and I are so blessed to have him and we really couldn’t be happier.

Thank you for bringing this handsome boy into our lives!  He is well loved and very happy.

Best,
Kristina, Chris and Dante

Duncan

Duncan, formerly known as Diesel, has been a great addition to our family. He and Ali, our seven year old female Pit Bull, are the best of friends, and he is getting along just fine with our two cats. Duncan is a sweet, sweet boy with TONS of energy. When we first brought him home a year ago, it was pretty evident that he had spent most of his time in a crate. He was nervous and scared, and would chew things like pillows or blankets for comfort. His sweet personality more than made up for his lack of manners. We fell in love with him immediately, and set out to help him overcome his fears. My boyfriend and I work with him every day, and he has improved 200% since the day that we adopted him. He is a cuddle bug, and now it is the four of us (sometimes six with the cats) on the couch watching T.V.He has also learned how to play Frisbee, which has always been Ali’s favorite game. They compete against each other, so it is a fun way for them both to burn up some energy. With a little work, he has also learned to walk nicely on a leash. We love him dearly and are grateful that we could give him a forever home. Ali is grateful to have a doggie friend to play and snuggle with. Rescuing him has made Aaron and I realize that we will always rescue a dog in need, either from a shelter or a rescue, when we are able to add another dog to our lives. There are many pit bulls out there that need a home, and a family that is willing to give them the time and love that they need. I think that they are such an awesome breed and I hope to always have one in my life. Thank you PittieLove Rescue for giving us the opportunity to add him to our lives!
