We rescued our first Pit Bull, Xena, in April 2009. She was a 4mo old stray wandering the streets of Lexington, TN. We had no prior experience with the breed..our knowledge was limited to what you generally see and hear in the media. Since her adoption, we have become completely enamored of the breed. She is an amazing dog and a wonderful addition to the family. She far surpasses even our Golden Retriever (sorry, Bodi!). It blows my mind how misunderstood Pit Bulls are. Their true nature couldn’t be further from the sterotype, and I felt an obligation to get the word out and do what I could to make a difference. I became a foster with PitteLove in Nov 2010. We’ve had a handful of dogs so far, and each one has been a great experience. They’ve all been wonderful in their own special way. It’s hard to let them go, but it’s very rewarding knowing you helped in finding them their forever home. I am so thankful to have had the chance to become part of the PittieLove crew.
