I am a graduate of Framingham State College with a degree in Sociology. I work full time in the Insurance field and full time in rescue. Mom to Yogi, a 13 year old rescued GSD/Greyhound mix, Poncho a 9 year old rescued American Pit Bull Terrier and Rosie a 8 old rescued American Pit Bull Terrier.
I grew up with a wonderful family who loved animals. Our house was always full of many rescued cats and dogs and I knew from a very young age the severe problem that our society faces with homeless animals. I adopted my first Pit Bull mix 20 years ago from Buddy Dog Humane Society in Sudbury. I lost her to cancer at age 13. She was my heart and soul.
I began volunteering and rescuing years ago as a volunteer with Baypath Humane Society and Pit Bull Rescue Central. We then began our own Pit Bull rescue in 2005.
My Pit Bull Poncho was found by me at 8 months of age. He was tied to a 3 ft lead in the middle of winter. He was emaciated and freezing from the cold. Rosie was one of my foster doggies. She was rescued from CACC in Brooklyn NY by a fellow rescuer. She, her Mom and siblings were found on the streets of NYC. Rosie is my only foster failure thus far! I have since fostered many, many dogs and pups for our rescue. I can honestly say that rescue is my calling in life. There is nothing like the joy you feel after saving an animal’s life and seeing it placed into a wonderful, loving forever home.
