Approx April 1, 1998 – May 3, 2012

Rest in Peace my beloved Yogi. Was so hard to make the decision last night to let you go. No pain anymore. Run free my baby Yogs. Fourteen years may be long – but never ever long enough. Such a wonderful dog who was at my side all the time. Loved my fosters and was always so good with all the dogs in and out of our home for the rescue. Mommy misses and loves you so much, as do your siblings Poncho and Rosie. Thank you to my wonderful family and wonderful friends for your love and support.

Please “Chipin” And Help Us Pay For Maloney’s Vet Bills

Maloney was rescued from Brockton Animal Control about 6 weeks ago. We were told that he was about 7 years old. He came to us very underweight and with a bad case of “happy-tail” (an injury caused by whacking the end of the tail while wagging) and diarrhea. We had him neutered and started him on antibiotics for his tail.

After finishing all his antibiotics and having his bandages changed daily, it had not improved. When we took him back to the vet, we were told that he would need to have his tail amputated. The vet also told us he was no more than 3 or 4 years old. In addition to the the issues with his tail he also has severe stomach issues and is now on a strict diet of prescription food and probiotics.

About 11 days ago he had his tail amputated and all was well. Last night it started to get red and inflamed so we decided we would have it looked at today while we were attending a “First aid for pets class” at Vescone – Emergency and Specialty Center in Waltham MA. During class, the red and inflamed area burst open and started to bleed and Dr. Amy Shroff, the vet on duty, immediately whisked him off to be examined.

Dr. Shroff found that what was left of his tail had turned necrotic and infected. He is now an inpatient and faces a very expensive surgical procedure to remove what is left of his stump. Even while all this was going on during class all Maloney wanted to do was give kisses and love to every human and animal in the place. This is truly Maloney’s style!

Maloney has had multiple visits with many vets and even after having a wonderful sponsor (Barbara of Greenfield, MA), we still need your help.

Love and Kisses from Maloney and all at PittieLove Rescue, Inc.
