PittieLove Rescue Inc. is a 501(c) (3) non profit organization based in MA. We are an all-volunteer, foster-home-based rescue dedicated to the care, understanding, and adoption of the American Pit Bull Terrier. PittieLove’s primary goal is to ensure that our rescued dogs will never again suffer from abuse or neglect. We work diligently to carefully place them into loving homes where, for all of their remaining years, they will experience the affection and kindness that has been so sorely absent from their lives.
Goodbye my love, my princess, my everything. Tears are streaming down my face as I type this and they won’t stop.
Rosie came into my life almost 14 years ago after being found on the side of a city street with her Mom and two siblings. She was approx. 4 months old. My baby girl, since day one, has never been anything short of amazing. She loved everyone. Dogs, cats, children alike. She was a Certified Therapy Dog, PittieLove Rescue’s mascot, and a true breed ambassador. She changed many minds about many of the typical misconceptions of pit bull-type dogs. Despite the many health issues (2 torn acl’s, chronic skin issues, ear tumors, removal of her spleen and 3 large masses) that she suffered over the years, not once did she ever show an ounce of pain. Her tail was constantly wagging and she was always willing to share her gentle, loving kisses with anyone who was open to receiving them. Even as she took her last breath her tail was wagging. Part of my heart and soul went with her and I so struggle finding strength to go on. My Poncho, who is not well himself at almost 15 and my girl Cassidy need me as do the many dogs needing rescue. I truly believe that I was put on this earth for a reason and Rosie will show me the way.
“Until one has loved an animal a part of ones soul remains unawakended”
What we have once enjoyed we can never lose, all that we love deeply becomes part of us”.
Until we meet again my baby girl. Love you more than words could ever say.
Thanks and love to my wonderful friends and family for being here for me. I’m forever grateful.
In lieu of cards/flowers please consider making a donation to PLR in Rosie’s memory.

Over a year ago, I lost my life-long best friend Jennifer to breast cancer. I realized how lucky I was to be able to say I had such an incredible friendship, and though not intentionally, started evaluating my other friendships and quickly realized, there was no human who could ever replace what was lost to my heart, and there was a hole there, for a very long time, as a big chunk of my heart was missing. She was truly my sister.
We adopted Maloney from PittieLove Rescue after sponsoring and then fostering him for a while. He had a very rough first few years of life arriving in to the rescue from Brockton Animal Control emaciated. He fit right in to his new home with our other two dogs. It’s a joy to watch him learn to love just being a normal dog! As we’ve got to know PittleLove more over the years, including doing a home visit for them, we’ve come to regard them as a model rescue organization. We are so very grateful for the work that they do with professionalism and integrity.
We had our son’s pit bull living with us for 6 years. That is how we first became in love with this ‘breed”. We then heard from Noreen at PLR that there was a sweet, 3-year old, female in a MA shelter who she felt would be a perfect fit for our family. We went to see Ebony and it was love at first sight!!! That was it!!! We adopted her shortly thereafter and the rest is history!!! She has been a wonderful addition to our family! I have never seen my husband SO in love with a pet before!!!! She’s lovable, intelligent and wonderful with our grandchildren and anyone who comes to visit! Our lives would not be complete without our sweet girl!!
Working with PittieLove Rescue has been a real pleasure. They are incredibly professional and thorough, as well as warm and friendly. After describing what I was looking for in a dog, Noreen suggested that one dog they had in foster stuck out as a good match in her mind. Boy, was she right! From the minute I met Sage, it was love at first sight. She is the sweetest dog I’ve ever met. I will definitely come back to PLR for our next dog. Thanks for all you do for these wonderful dogs!
