PittieLove Rescue

A Mission of Love. Rescue and Acceptance

Our Mission:  PittieLove Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer, foster-home-based rescue dedicated to the care, understanding, and adoption of the American Pit Bull Terrier. PittieLove’s primary goal is to ensure that our rescued dogs will never again suffer from abuse or neglect. We work diligently to carefully place them into loving homes where, for all of their remaining years, they will experience the affection and kindness that has been so sorely absent from their lives.

About Us

Since 2006, PittieLove Rescue has worked closely with animal shelters, animal control facilities, rescue organizations, and volunteers throughout New England and strives to save as many dogs as our resources will allow. All dogs who successfully pass our temperament evaluation are placed into loving foster homes where they are provided with quality veterinary care, initial training, and extensive socialization (with both people and animals of all ages). All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for heartworm and other tick-bourne illnesses, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.

As experienced pit bull parents, all of our volunteers are happy to assist potential fosters and adopters with any questions or concerns they may have at every stage of each dogs’ life, and beyond. Potential adopters are provided with applicable information relating to the specific dog that they are interested in, as well as other potential matches.

Although we do not accept dogs into our program that show aggression toward other dogs, we prefer to place our rescued dogs as only pets or with a compatible dog of the opposite gender. It is important to distinguish the difference between dog/animal aggression and human aggression. Human aggression is not a normal trait of pit bull-type dogs.

Our strict adoption policies include, but are not limited to, a comprehensive application process with an initial phone screen, personal and vet reference checks, and a home visit. Please read our Adoption Policies for more detailed information.

Noreen Ford never grasped the true implication of the term “underdog” until she met Poncho, a pit bull who she says steadily tugged at her heart until he ultimately stole it.

Ford, who grew up in Sudbury, has been a Framingham resident for 23 years and is the founder of PittieLove Rescue, based in Framingham. It launched in February of 2006.

We adopted Maloney from PittieLove Rescue after sponsoring and then fostering him for a while. He had a very rough first few years of life arriving in to the rescue from Brockton Animal Control emaciated. He fit right in to his new home with our other two dogs. It’s a joy to watch him learn to love just being a normal dog! As we’ve got to know PittleLove more over the years, including doing a home visit for them, we’ve come to regard them as a model rescue organization. We are so very grateful for the work that they do with professionalism and integrity.

We had our son’s pit bull living with us for 6 years. That is how we first became in love with this ‘breed.” We then heard from Noreen at PLR that there was a sweet 3-year old female in a MA shelter who she felt would be a perfect fit for our family. We went to see Ebony and it was love at first sight!!! That was it!!! We adopted her shortly thereafter and the rest is history!!! She has been a wonderful addition to our family! I have never seen my husband SO in love with a pet before!!!! She’s lovable, intelligent, and wonderful with our grandchildren and anyone who comes to visit! Our lives would not be complete without our sweet girl!!

Working with PittieLove Rescue has been a real pleasure. They are incredibly professional and thorough, as well as warm and friendly. After describing what I was looking for in a dog, Noreen suggested that one dog they had in foster stuck out as a good match in her mind. Boy, was she right! From the minute I met Sage, it was love at first sight. She is the sweetest dog I’ve ever met. I will definitely come back to PLR for our next dog. Thanks for all you do for these wonderful dogs!
